We asked Dublin Live readers "What do you think is the biggest issue facing people in Dublin today?"
In a landslide, almost half of all voters selected housing as the biggest issue they faced. 46% of readers choose housing. In second place, with 29% of the vote, readers said that crime was the biggest issue in Dublin.
Inflation took the third largest share of the vote, with 10% of readers voting for it as the biggest issue. In September, 12,827 people are registered as homeless in the State with 3,904 of these being children. The issue is at its worst in the capital with 9,391 people in emergency accommodation, including 2,966 children.

6% of readers also selected the 'Other' option on the poll, where they could suggest issues facing people in Dublin that were not listed.
Immigration was a commonly suggested issue. The Taoiseach recently stated that the Government will be taking action to slow the number of Ukrainian refugees coming into Ireland.
There have been a number of anti-immigration protests in Dublin over the past year, including at a Ballybrack building that was later set on fire. The building was being considered to house refugees. Another issue suggested by readers was the problem of dangerous dogs.
One reader wrote: "Dangerous dogs off leads and not under control of owner, not just Bull dogs but other breeds with hostile tendencies, we need a visible presence of wardens in public walking spaces like local parks and council amenities like St Anne's Park, malahide Castle etc"
Last month, Dublin City Council admitted that XL Bully breeds were "spread throughout the city". This is despite being on a list of restricted breeds that also includes Rottweilers and German Shepherds.
