A rising Irish pop rock group are set to release their new single inspired by an encounter with a homeless man in a Dublin chipper.
Hawke the Band will release new track, 'If I Made the World' on Friday. The four-piece, hailed as the next big thing, have previously supported fellow Liberties singer Imelda May on tour.
Lead singer Richie Power was blown away by the positive energy of the man he met and was inspired to pen the new tune in tribute to his positive spirit.

He said: “The song was inspired by a conversation I had in a chipper with a homeless man after a night out. His positive spirit took me by surprise, I suppose, and his outlook on life and how things would be if he were the one in power was what really sparked the inspiration for the song really.”
He added: "It was just class to hear his ideas coming from someone with so little who wishes they could give so much to other people, really."
Drummer Darragh McCarthy, who hails from Letterkenny in Donegal, added the band hopes the song has a strong emotional impact on people. He said: "Regardless of how many people hear it, we just hope that people enjoy what they hear and are able to take away something from the song for themselves."
Hawke the Band were championed by late Aslan frontman Christy Dignam, who hailed them as potentially the next great act to come out of Ireland. The group started out recording their home demos in Richie's bedroom, which they then sent to producers in London.
Before they knew it, they were recording their first releases in the famed Abbey Road and Metropolis Studios. The first track from those sessions, 'What about Love', was subsequently chosen out of 500 other entries in a competition to support Aslan at the Iveagh Gardens.
The new single will be available to stream on all platforms from November 10.
