A Dublin cafe has made the hard decision to up their prices after a challenging few months of trading.
Laine My Love is a quirky cafe tucked away near Connolly Station on Talbot Street. Staff have seen huge increases in billing for ingredients such as poultry, fruit and milk.
The cafe's manager Marita announced yesterday on Instagram that food prices would soon go up. Coffee will remain unaffected for now but marginal increases may later be needed for milk-based orders.

Marita told Dublin Live: "We've been considering this for a little while- it's a tough call but it had to be made. We were finding it difficult to pay wages."
She added: "Our coffee remains reasonably priced compared to a lot of Dublin businesses. Our regular Americano only costs €2.70 and we offer a 30 per cent discount for those with keep cups. However, we may need to introduce a 10 cent increase on milkier coffees at some point."
The business hasn't modified prices for its food menu since the pandemic. Marita estimated most sandwiches will go up by 50 cents, although the breakfast item will increase by a heftier €1.50 due to spiralling meat costs.
Marita admitted the reintroduction of the 13.5 per cent VAT rate has also left the business reeling. Despite the challenges, customers have been very supportive since yesterday's announcement.
The manager said: "We have to consider people and their income while we're also struggling with our bills- it's a fine line. Everyone is in the same boat and luckily customers have been understanding."
Staff at Laine My Love have also grappled with security concerns in recent months after a terrifying break-in. A shaken staff member was held up at knife-point this spring in an attempted robbery.
Marita said the harrowing incident was the first of its kind to take place in her six years as manager. A security guard now assists staff when opening up the premises, while CCTV equipment has also been updated.
