The Nightmare Realm is hiring character performers for full-time jobs ahead of its return to Dublin on October 6 before the Halloween season.
The Nightmare Realm is Ireland's only indoor scream park, running from October 6 to November 3. This year it boasts thrilling animatronics, award winning costumes, special effects, and a food court with werewolf burgers and lots more.
The event will return to its previous haunt on Mary Street in the historic City Market, the 130-year-old Victorian red brick fruit and veg market. Ahead of its big opening, the Nightmare Realm is recruiting "talented immersive character performers" to give visitors a good scare.

According to the Nightmare Realm, the character performer roles pay €11.50 - €14.00 per hour flat rate. It's a full-time position and applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends.
The jobs advert by The Nightmare Realm reads: "We are looking to recruit talented immersive character performers with an ability to implement scare in their performances for The Nightmare Realm haunt mazes and scare zones. Our immersive attraction performers must be highly motivated with exceptional physical stamina and dedication to exemplary standards of guest interaction.
"We have various performing opportunities which we are recruiting for, including scare, scripted characters, immersive entertainment, street theater, circus and dancing roles which will bring our award winning event to life! You will be required to attend an audition at The Nightmare Realm so please ensure you bring your enthusiasm, high levels of energy and a desire to create exceptional guest interactions at every opportunity!

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Job requirements
- All applicants must be aged 16 or over
- Male and female all body types and sizes welcome
- Applicants must be in good physical health given the maze houses are physically demanding spaces to work in
Good stamina and mental endurance
Experience in scare acting is a bonus but absolutely not necessary, scare tactics training will be provided
Personal attributes needed
- People who love to scare.
- Big personality, someone who is outgoing, confident, willing to take instruction, not take themselves too seriously
- Responsible and reliable
- Ability to work in a group dynamic
- Talented, versatile and enthusiastic. Divas need not apply!
But these roles aren't for the faint of heart, as performance space includes: almost complete darkness, tight spaces, strobe lighting, loud and disturbing audio, smoke and fog effects, hydraulics, indoor and outdoor all weather conditions, cold and warm settings.
