Award-winning writer and actress Joyce Greenaway brings her solo show, Whisk(e)y Wars, to Dublin on Thursday, October 20th, in probably the most fitting venue possible - a working distillery.
Debuting to rave reviews at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the story of Tam Tully's struggle to save her family's distillery is a richly comic, dysfunctional family drama, full of dry Northern Irish humour, raw emotion - and whiskey! It’s a simple setup: a chair, a glass and a bottle of whiskey, that has been described as ‘blistering’ and ‘hypnotic enough to stop time itself’.
Tickets are available now from Eventbrite priced €20. Watch the teaser below:
From the official press release: "What if the mighty Tam Tully not only has to fight tragedy and treachery to save her eight-generation Irish family distillery by crafting the perfect single malt, but also battle the men who abandoned her, the duty that’s trapped her and the lies she’s spent a lifetime concealing? Lace it with ascerbic throwaways, cask it in feral emotion, flavour it with politics, sex, religion, misogyny, injustice and wait for Tam to explode."
Whiskey fans, and anyone with a taste for darkly comic theatre, won't want to miss this opportunity to catch Whisk(e)y Wars at the Dublin Liberties Distillery. We hear there may be a bit of a whiskey tasting before the show, too...
