The owners of a Dublin pub have bid an emotional farewell to customers as they announced a major change.
The Glen of Aherlow-Donoghue's in Inchicore will be changing hands after over 20 years as owners Joe and Maria told customers that their tenure in the Glen has come to an end.
In a poignant Facebook post, they said: "We firstly want to say a big thank you all of our wonderful staff, both past and present, who have worked alongside us throughout the years - it was an absolute pleasure and we know how fortunate we have been. We particularly want to thank the wonderful Liam Fox and Janice Cassin who have been with us through thick and thin since day one nearly 23 years ago. They are legends."

The duo went on to thank all of their loyal customers who have stood by their side since they took over the pub over two decades ago. They added: "When people ask us what makes this such a good pub, there is one clear answer, it’s cash only. The second thing we tell people is that we are not just a pub, but a community of people who support one another, from Christenings to Funerals, and everything in-between.
"Thank you for allowing our family to be a small part of that. We will think back on these years with a fondness for all the pints pulled, the laughs had, and most importantly the stories shared. However, we are looking forward to spending more time on the other side of the bar counter as we head into retirement!
"Once again, a big thank you to everyone for all the incredible support through the years." Heartbroken customers took to the comments to wish the family all the best.
One person said: "Thank you so much Joe, Maria and all your lovely family, we have so many great memories that we shared over the years. We hope you enjoy your well deserved free time, and we hope our paths cross again soon."
Another person added: "You will be missed, Joe. We hope you have many happy years on the outside of the bar and thanks for all the years on the inside."
A third person said: "Thank you, Joe, Maria and all staff for the momentous memories. Hopefully nothing much will change of the pub. Best wishes to you for the future."
