If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin city centre pubs and bars, the Deadman’s inn in Lucan is a very nice option.
The pub is a great place to meet for a casual dinner, bring the family along for their popular Sunday lunch, or watch the GAA or Premier League over a pint. As well as that, many go there for lunch from Liffey Valley Shopping Centre over the road.
Originally opened in 1702, the Deadman’s Inn is one of the oldest pubs in Dublin and a popular spot today. It got the name Deadman’s because that was where funerals stopped off on the way to or from outside the city.

It still retains old world charm and character and the pub grub prices are pretty good, with the pub having regular specials and promotions.
For example, last Friday they had a chicken curry with rice lunch special for just €5, and on Saturday they had chicken wings and a pint for €10 for the Rugby World Cup match. They also had €5 pints after 6pm.
They will also announce a new menu soon. Live music sessions are also a thing there so make sure to follow their Facebook page for any announcements.
