The pub is a well known Dublin landmark and is the oldest pub in Inchicore. It stands guarded by its signature black lion stone statue over the door on the corner of Emmet Road and Grattan Crescent.

Google reviewers give it an average 4.2 stars, with many of them praising the atmosphere and the food. In one of the most recent reviews, one person wrote: “Food was amazing, melt in your mouth meats. Quick service for the drinks, however [it] was hard to get any attention. Good music and not too loud so [you] can still hear your company.”
Meanwhile another one said: “Very nice neighborhood pub where you can drink and watch the matches in peace.” And another added: “I recommend. Very good food and drink. The waiter is very kind and funny, plus [it has a] great atmosphere.”
A fourth reviewer said: “Great carvery lunch option, big portions, you will not leave hungry! A great selection of vegan options.
“There is no sign of salad bar or even a salad menu, but salads are served. Had a chicken Caesar salad, and it was delicious. Great outdoor area and great Guinness."
