A total of 23 Dublin pubs sold last year were valued at a whopping €51.5 million.
The lifting of restrictions in 2022 saw suburban pubs thrive as more people were likely to visit their local due to the prevalence of remote working. However, city centre boozers suffered and saw a reduction in their mid-week customers, according to a report by Lisney.
Many city centre pubs have still not recovered to 2019 trading levels. Furthermore, the increase in gas and oil prices in addition to labour shortages put further pressure on pub owners.
