Good morning and welcome to Dublin Live's traffic blog for Thursday, November 16.

There was a collision ahead of M50 Junction 4 Ballymun northbound earlier this morning which had an impact on traffic. There are also delays on the M50 southbound between Junction 5 and Junction 9.

Several routes approaching Dublin are experiencing delays: M1 South, M3 South, M4 East and M7 East.

National Slow Down Day takes places from 7am today until 7am tomorrow. The Road Safety Authority of Ireland said gardai will be conducting speed checks around the country. They appeal to drivers nationwide to reduce their speed this National Slow Down Day.

Traffic in the city is yet to pick up with 27 traffic jams in Dublin right now.

Gardai to patrol public transport services in Dublin today

Gardai, Irish Rail, and LUAS operators will be conducting a day-of-action to prevent and detect anti-social behaviour on board public transport services.

With the support of personnel from both public transport providers, gardai will be conducting high visibility, proactive patrols of LUAS Red and Green Line and DART services across the Dublin region throughout the day.

Local Crime Prevention Officers and Community Policing gardai will also be present in Pearse Street, Connolly and Heuston stations.

Several collisions from earlier this morning cleared

  • M50 between Junction 9 Red Cow and Junction 7 Lucan northbound which was blocking the hard shoulder
  • M7 between Junction 9A Naas and Junction 9 Naas eastbound which was blocking lane 1
  • M4/N4 between Junction 4 Newcastle and Junction 3 Lucan eastbound

The M50 crash has been cleared.

Emergency services on scene of collision

Emergency services are now on the scene of the collision on the M50 northbound before the M1/M50 roundabout so the left lane is blocked again. Traffic is very slow back to Junction 5 Finglas.

There has been a collision on the M50 northbound just before the M1/M50 roundabout in the left lane. The collision has been moved to the hard shoulder.

A delivery truck is blocking the left lane on Dolphin’s Barn Road inbound.
