Good morning and welcome to Dublin Live's traffic blog.
Dublin City FM is reporting there are already 2 crashes on the M50 causing tailbacks this morning, with icy conditions on many roads. The first crash is on the M50 northbound between J06 Blanchardstown and J05 - Finglas.
It is affecting lane 1 and the auxillary lane. Delays to be expected.
The second crash is on the M50 at J16 Cherrywood, heading northbound. It's on Slip R118 to the M50, with lane 1 and 2 affected.
Irish Rail's 07.10 Malahide/Bray departed +17mins delayed due to a signalling issue. Knock-on delays of up to +10mins can be expected through Malahide as a result.
The RSA is also urging motorists to take care on the roads due to a Statue Yellow low temperature/ice warning. A spokesperson for the RSA also warned of the dangers of black ice.
"Black ice is one of winter's biggest hazards as it is hard to see. Black ice forms when rain freezes as it hits the road forming a thin sheet of if that is extremely dangerous
"It is best to avoid getting into a skid in the first place and the way to do that is by slowing down. In freezing conditions treat every road as though it is frozen, if you skid on black ice the main thing is not to break, take your foot off the accelerator and use every control very delicately."
