Dunnes Stores has issued an urgent recall for a children's product over possible drowning fears.
The Dunnes Kids' Swim Jacket has been marked as unsafe by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). Consumer safety bosses have urged parents to stop using the product immediately and keep it out of reach of children.
The product was recalled as the seams of the garment may separate reducing/releasing buoyancy and creating the risk of drowning.. A total of 1,237 of the faulty life jackets were sold in the Republic of Ireland.
The implicated products have the model number 3248157, while the batch number is 230515. The bar codes are 5099014540546 / 5099014540539 / 5099014540522.
The CCPC said: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children. You can return the product to your local store for a full refund. If you have any further queries in relation to this recall, please email customerservice@dunnesstores.com"
