Jackie Devoy is arguably the biggest Marilyn Monroe fan in Dublin and Ireland, with a personality that is just as colourful to her art pop shrine to the iconic actress.

59-year-old Jackie's Dublin home is a burst of vibrancy dedicated to the one and only Monroe. From wall hangings to memorabilia and even bed clothes.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Jackie made clear her love for Marilyn, both as a performer and a person, and even revealed that there are some aspects about the star she relates to herself.

She revealed: "I love Marilyn and her little life that she didn't really have. It kind of reminded me of my own life in a way."

Jackie first went viral in 2019 when pictures emerged of her house in Neilstown which made it more than clear that she was a Marilyn super fan.

"There were people from Australia, Canada and America who all wanted to know what it was all about," she said.

Jackie's love for colour and glam is made evident at her front door before you even enter her home. Inside, almost every inch of every wall is used to pay homage to Monroe.

She explained: "I started collecting when I was young and it just got bigger and bigger.

"I think she was really glamourous, and she was a lovely person as well. I just thought she was beautiful.

"When I looked at her little life, I don't know how she got through, with all of what happened to her."

Jackie got onto the topic of romance when chatting to Dublin Live, revealing that she would love to find someone to match her colourful personality.

She said: "I'm 59 and I'll be 60 in April. I'd like to meet somebody nice.

"I'm looking for love in my life and madness in my life with somebody who is wild like myself, somebody who is into things in my style.

"Marylin Monroe said that everybody should have a bit of madness in their life and I agree with that.

"I'm just looking for somebody who would relate to the way I am in life, a bit wild."

Jackie just released her debut novel, The Enchanting Belle, which is available on Amazon and follows the story of a hospital worker. Jackie says the book contains "mystery, an affair and murder".

A few of Jackie's friends have read the book and have given her rave reviews, praising it for its imagination. She also has another book in the works which is all about life in The Liberties in the 60s and 70s.

"I can see myself being in a big movie and I can see myself just like Marilyn on the big screen," Jackie revealed.
