The Irish accent is among the most appealing brogues in the world to Americans according to new study. A survey conducted by Highland Titles found that the Irish accent is music to American ears in a number of ways.
71% of survey participants said they were interested in dating someone with an accent, with the Irish lilt ranking highly in a number of categories. 1,000 Americans were surveyed in total, reports the Irish Star.
And it's good news for us Irish as our accent is among the most attractive accents in the world as well as the most charming. However, the Irish accent didn't rank number one on any of the lists. Regardless, we're proud of our accent and we're glad that it's well-liked around the world.

Ireland took the number four spot on the list of most attractive accents in the world. It was beaten by Australia in first place, followed by Scotland and London in second and third place.
Ireland beat some tough competition in the list, ranking higher than the French accent, the Italian accent, the Welsh accent, and the Brummie accent. A list of the least attractive accents was also made from the results of the survey which is made up of New York, Boston, American Midwestern, Canadian, American Southern, Spanish, German, and Yorkshire.
Additionally, Ireland made the top three list of most charming accents in the world, beaten only by the Scottish accent in first place and the Australian accent in second place. However, the Irish accent didn't make the list of most beautiful accents, most romantic accents, or most seductive accents.
The Irish accent took the number two spot on the list of most attractive mae accents, beat again by Australia. It ranked higher than Welsh, Scottish, and French.
Unfortunately, it's not great news for Irish women as the accent didn't make the list of the most attractive female accents. That list is comprised of Australia, London, Scotland, Brummie, and France.
Three American accents, New York, Boston, and American Midwestern, were named the most annoying. Meanwhile, the most calming accents were revealed to be Canadian, Scottish, and Australian.
