RTE Late Late Show viewers were divided during Patrick Kielty's first interview for the night with musician, podcaster and author Blindboy Boatclub.
The Limerick celebrity is best known for making The Blindboy Podcast and as one half of the comedy hip-hop group The Rubberbandits, who wear plastic shopping bags as masks to conceal their identities. Blindboy, whose real name is David Chambers, discussed his new book about Limerick, Topographia Hibernica, as well as being diagnosed with autism.
However, Late Late Show viewers took to social media to express their surprise at seeing a man with a plastic bag on his head without any context. One person commented: "My mother says who's on the Late Late Show now? As she puts the kettle on and I shout out to her, some lad with a plastic bag on his head !!!!"

Meanwhile another one wrote: "A man with a plastic bag on his head, is this supposed to be Entertainment?" And a third added: "Blindboy is hugely intelligent and interesting but I fail to see what the bag is all about. It distracts from his performance."
There were those happy with seeing the podcaster as a guest, with one person saying: "Now you are talking - best guest so far." But there were also those who were dismayed at seeing him in the Late Late Show studio again after he previously appeared during the Ryan Tubridy era.
One person commented: "Do they have a limited list of guests for The Late Late Show and simply schedule them - taking turns? No imagination."
