Gardai have arrested a man after protestors surrounded Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald's car during an incident in East Wall last night.
Just after 7pm on Monday night, a crowd had gathered at Sean O’Casey Community Centre in East Wall, Dublin 3. Ms McDonald was attending a function in the community centre at the time.
Footage on social media shows protestors approach Ms McDonald's car, many of them shouting. Ms McDonald's car was able to leave the scene a short time later as gardai intervened.

A Garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that they attended the scene in East Wall last night. One man was arrested for a public order offence.
The Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended a gathering in the East Wall area in Dublin 3 on the evening of Monday 27th November 2023.
"One man was arrested for a public order offence and detained at a Garda station in Dublin city. He was later released pending an Adult Caution."
A spokesperson for Sinn Fein told Dublin Live: "Mary Lou McDonald attended a community meeting in the Séan O'Casey Community Centre yesterday evening. This included helping local people who were making preparations for the lighting ceremony of the community Christmas tree this weekend.
"As she was leaving the community centre, a small, aggressive group was outside. East Wall is a great community and this group in no way represents the people of this area."
