Fresh from fishing Kerry's David Clifford back out of his pocket, Michael Fitzsimons let the excitement get the better of him an unleashed an F-bomb live on RTE.
The Dubs legend now has a record-breaking nine All-Ireland medals and turned in an exceptional performance to shackle Kerry's star man Clifford. Fitzsimons was interviewed by RTE after the final whistle and momentarily forgot himself as he unleashed the accidental swear word.
The defender attempted to cover the mic as he quickly realised what he had done. But he soon regained his composure and went on to pay tribute to his teammates after they secured a narrow 1-15 to 1-13 win over the Kingdom.
He said: "I know it was scrappy and it might not have been a picturesque game that everyone wanted but it was about doing it for them and doing it for the teammates. James McCarthy, how can you not just love the guy?

"He's just such a warrior and leading us into battle each day, it's easy to come back year on year. Apologies for my language."
The Cuala man went on to praise the Dubs management team for sticking with him even when he hadn't been playing well and bringing back a number of stars who had stepped back from the intercounty scene. He added: "They stuck with me when my form was incredibly patchy through two leagues.
"Coming back into the group, the players that I've played with, I can't put words in their back but [Paul] Mannion and Jack [McCafferty] coming back as well and Pat [Gilroy] wanting to give a dig out too and Craig Dias. People want to be part of the group and it means a lot to us."
Fitzsimons then went on to explain how he managed to marshal Clifford for most of an absorbing contest at GAA HQ. He said: "We've had plenty of preparation. I've marked David before and he's a great footballer.
"I've marked plenty of lad. In training you're exposed to that as well. It's just sticking to your own gameplan and how you implement it.
"When you look back at it, anything I did it was because someone else was around me. When I slipped or anything happened, my teammates backed me up and that's what it's all about."
