A new defibrillator is now available in Kilnamanagh thanks to funding from Brendan O'Carroll.
Ireland captain Katie McCabe presented the new equipment to Kilnamanagh AFC today on behalf of the Mrs Brown's Boys FAI Heart Care programme. The scheme decided to replace the medical device after it was heartlessly destroyed by vandals several weeks ago.
The health programme was launched back in 2018 by Brendan and his wife Jenny. The unique device connects to the Internet through connected mobile phones, with club members receiving an alert if the device's battery is running low.

The equipment is located at the Kilnamanagh Family Resource Centre. Residents were left devastated after the expensive equipment was damaged beyond further use by vandals.
Kilnamanagh's Tony Halpin said: “I want to thank everyone involved with the Mrs. Brown’s Boys FAI Heart Care programme for this wonderful donation. The facilities in Kilnamanagh are so integral to the community and we were all shocked when the Defib was vandalised. For the FAI and Mrs. Brown’s Boys to replace the AED unit so quickly means so much, not just to our football club but for everyone in our community.”
Mrs. Brown’s Boys FAI Heart Care programme has helped deliver defibrillators to 316 clubs nationwide at reduced cost. The Heart Care programme has already helped 85 young footballers seek cardiac treatment to date.
