A Palestinian business owner is hosting a family style culinary night to raise vital funds for medics in Gaza.
Adnan Shabab is the owner of Shaku Maku, a Palestinian restaurant located in Rathmines. All dishes are based on Adnan's own family recipes passed down from his grandmother and mother.
The eatery previously raised an impressive €7,400 for the Irish Red Cross through a previous culinary night. Adnan said the restaurant was packed for the evening and has received numerous requests from customers to host a similar event since.

Diners will sit in groups of four to eight people for a family-style sitting experience. Adnan explained that a special menu has been selected for the night which represents the mouth watering cuisine across different Palestinian regions.
He told Dublin Live: "Some of these recipes are from specific Palestinian cities - we have the famous dessert Nablus knafeh from the Palestinian city of Nablus on offer. There are also vegetarian and vegan options for those who don't eat meat. It will be a busy night- the response has been really great so far."
Adnan hopes people can enjoy the new dishes while contributing towards an important cause. The business has staunchly advocated for Palestinians amid the ongoing violence in Adnan's home country.
The business was previously hit with a slew of bad Google reviews after a mural supporting Palestine was erected on the restaurant's wall. However, Adnan explained the business rallied itself thanks to the support of its loyal customers.
He added: "Our customers really supported us through that and we want to focus on the positives now by making some change. There's no point just watching from afar and asking "what can we do"- even a little gesture can have a big impact."
The three course dining experience costs €55 per person, with two separate sittings on the night. Tickets for the event are already selling fast but are still available through Eventbrite.
