The Toy Show began on a powerful note with host Patrick Kielty addressing the harrowing events of Thursday in Dublin.
The Co Down native is hosting his first ever Toy Show during a taxing time in Ireland. Nonetheless, the festive show began with a joyous display of elves and dance to rally spirits.
Patrick emerged on stage to rapturous applause from the Late Late Show audience. The 52-year-old waited for the cheers to die down before delivering a simple but enduring message.

He said: ""Given the events of the last 24 hours it is important to remember what this time of year is all about."
With his voice quivering with emotion, he also appealed to parents to hug their children "that bit tighter" tonight. Two children remain in hospital after a stabbing incident unfolded at Parnell Square yesterday afternoon.
His emotional tribute did not go unnoticed by viewers. Many appreciated the simple message delivered by Patrick.
One person wrote: "Toy Show is badly needed this year. If ever the nation needed some wholesome content."
While another praised: "He's not making it about himself! It's actually about the toys and the kids!! Well done Patrick Kielty!"
