A beloved ramen spot in Smithfield and its downstairs cocktail bar are both closing down this weekend.
Soup 2 is a popular restaurant located on King St N in Smithfield. It has developed a dedicated and loyal following thanks to its delicious ramen dishes since it opened in January 2021.
Meanwhile, Dashi is located downstairs from Soup 2 and it's described as a "dog friendly" basement cocktail bar. It is well-known for its lively entertainment events, which included weekly live jazz nights, house music nights and more.

The owners of both Soup 2 and Dashi have confirmed that Sunday, 30 October will be their last day in business. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the owners shared a heartbreaking statement on their closure.
They said: "With a heavy heart we announce our closure of both soup 2 and Dashi. Unfortunately things have remained unsustainable for too long now and it's time to move on.
"Sunday coming is our final day of trade. Thanks for everything.
"Stay tuned for an exciting new project at this location."
Heartbroken customers took to the comments on Instagram. One person wrote: "That’s so sad to hear. Wish you good luck in your new projects."
Another commented: "Nnooooooo... Dublin 7 mourns another closure." A third said: "Aw man! Will be sorely missed! Both fantastic places in Dublin 7."
