The return of RTE’s Incredible Homes series was welcomed by viewers on Sunday evening after a long absence.

Architect Dermot Bannon jetted off to sunny Barcelona for the third series of the RTE series. The programme marked Dermot’s first time abroad since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic as he travelled to Scotland and Spain to explore some beautiful properties.

While many were delighted to see Dermot back on the TV, some were not too impressed with his selection of properties. One home Dermot visited in Spain's Catalan region was described as a "shipping container" leaving many viewers cold.

One person wrote wrote: “That shipping container home. Just no. Not one thing to redeem it.”

Someone else said: "These houses look as cold as a pathologist's slab."

One person tweeted: "Ah Jez another box house, great for a murder movie set"

Another Twitter user wrote: "That's not a home. That's a gas chamber.'"

And finally one person tweeted: "Somehow living in a steel 40 ft container is incredible homes. Next series Dermot can explore incredible prisons"

Despite the reaction to the property, viewers were thrilled to be reunited with Dermot on their telly. The RTE series has been a fan favourite for the last three seasons, along with his beloved show Room To Improve. One fan posted on Twitter: "Haven’t smiled so much on a Sunday evening, what an opening scene!!"

Dermot Bannon's Incredible Homes airs Sundays at 9.30pm on RTE One.
