Ryan Tubridy has fondly looked back on his "14 beautiful years" of hosting The Late Late Toy Show, as he wished successor Patrick Kielty luck.
The annual Christmas extravaganza is taking place tomorrow Friday, 24 November at 9.35pm on RTE One with new host Kielty at the helm. Tubridy served as the host of The Late Late Toy Show for a tenure of 14 years before he stepped down.
Ryan is due to start a new radio programme with Virgin Radio in January. He popped into Dublin’s Q102 studios on Thursday to greet his new colleagues ahead of the launch of his new UK-based show.

Ryan told listeners on Dublin's Q102 yesterday: "I feel so happy that I had 14 beautiful years doing it. I loved every single Toy Show I did.
"I feel so happy that I was able to pass it on and say it's somebody else's now." Ryan added that the beloved show is in "great hands" with new host Patrick Kielty.
He said: "There is a wonderful bunch of people working on that show. I wish them all only the best, and Paddy, good luck in this first, it's a big gig, and he’ll be well able for it.
"I'm not going to miss it in the sense because I did it, and I had my fun, and I left the Late Late just at the right time for me. I was delighted to leave it behind. I love it, I hope all the children get to have fun."
Ryan also joined his future colleagues at FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock yesterday. He described the Toy Show as his “favourite night of the year” and “there was magic in the air”.
On Toy Show night, Tubridy will be in Clifden Co Galway to turn on the Christmas lights. In the months since his departure from RTE, Tubridy has embarked on a "new chapter" of his life with a big move to London.
He is set to host a mid-morning slot on Virgin Radio UK from 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday in the New Year.
