The first batch of bonus social welfare payments announced by the Government in Budget 2024 are due this month.
The payments are part of a €1.2 billion package aimed at assisting pensioners, carers, people with disabilities and families amid the cost of living crisis.
Weekly social welfare payments are due to rise by €12 a week in January and bonus double payments for all core welfare payments are due in December and the New Year. Before then, a number of social welfare payments will receive once-off lump sums.
