Tributes have poured in for a much respected Dublin man who owned and operated a popular Irish pub in Brooklyn.
James Keenaghan, from Dublin, owned Kitty Kiernan's in Brooklyn, which has been in business since 1996. Following his death, the pub has led tributes to Mr Keenaghan by saying it is "humbling to know just how many people out there" loved him, reports the Irish Star.
The pub has also taken to social media to share details on Mr Keenaghan's funeral and wake, with his funeral taking place on Friday, 15 September.
They said in a Facebook post: "It’s been an unbelievable source of comfort through these difficult times, and it’s humbling to know just how many people out there loved James as much as we did."

The pub, which is located at 9715 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, was closed last night in respect to Mr Keenaghan. It will reopen today for those who wish to visit in remembrance of its beloved owner.
"We reopen tomorrow at the usual time if you’d like to come in and do some remembrance," they said.
"So long, James. You were an absolute bastard but that’s why we loved you."
Kitty Kiernans opened in 1996, and since then it has been owned and operated by James Keenaghan. He was originally from Dublin.
Over the years, the pub became a popular spot for locals for its authentic Irish feel and friendly service. Movie fans might recognize the pub as one of the locations where director Spike Lee's 2002 film The 25th Hour was filmed.
Locals have been sharing their condolences for Keenaghan's loved ones and fond memories they share with the publican. One Facebook user commented: "The good ones always go too soon. Rest in Peace James."
Another said: "This is a great loss to the neighborhood. Rest easy, sir, and raise a pint for us all."
A third person said: "Unreal! I just saw him last week sitting outside. So sad. A Bay Ridge Legend. Good man from my part."
New York-based Irish trad musicians The Brooklyn Brds also paid tribute, saying: "RIP James Keenaghan, owner of Kitty Kiernan’s in Bay Ridge, shocked to hear of his unexpected passing yesterday. Thanks for always supporting us, you will be greatly missed."
